The future of computing, forged in pure code.
JurkOS is not just another Linux distribution. It is a sovereign operating system based on the NetBSD 11.0 Stable kernel. Why choose NetBSD? For its legendary portability, surgical cleanliness, and its ability to give total control back to the user. Developed with passion by Amine, JurkOS is the result of days of compilation, late-night debugging, and a clear vision: to create a fast, lightweight, and uncompromising environment.
Using the latest stable version of the NetBSD Kernel for optimal hardware compatibility on x86_64.
A pure BSD system. No bloatware, no systemd, just the raw power of direct System Calls (Syscalls).
The core system is optimized for speed, ensuring a lightning-fast boot and minimal resource usage.
The heart of JurkOS interaction is through its minimalist terminal, written entirely in pure C.
The JurkOS init (/sbin/init) is compiled in static mode with no external libraries,
guaranteeing a startup in less than 5 seconds.
We have made a radical decision: NVIDIA is not supported. We currently do not have NVIDIA support to keep the kernel as small as possible and avoid millions of stability issues. Sorry NVIDIA users! JurkOS prioritizes Intel chips and open standards for a crash-free experience.
init_main.c.To ensure the independence of JurkOS, core functions were rewritten using direct x86_64 assembly:
SYS_read (3): For real-time keyboard input.SYS_write (4): For high-performance console output.SYS_open (5): For hardware device access.SYS_reboot (208): For clean system shutdown management.JurkOS is just at the beginning of its journey. Here is what's coming very soon:
